Tons of Turkeys

We ALL made this turkey!
Mrs. Topchik had the big googley eyes hiding in the closet.
She cut out the beak and the red waddle.
We made the feathers.  There are 19 feathers because we have 17 kids in our class and Nanie Linda and Mrs. Topchik each made one too.

Your turkeys from home are all wonderful.  Everyone at school is able to enjoy them as they are hanging in the K-1 hall.  Thank you for supporting your child with this project.
Ask your child if they will read and/or sing this to you.

We visited the Fire Station this morning!

On our way!

Fire Fighter Dayle taught us about hot doors and that smoke rises.
Sparky's ABC's was a video of a fire dog singing us a song about safety tips.
All four K classes went and they were a wonderful audience.
Sam showed us his protective uniform and gear.
We wrote about our field trip this afternoon.
Back to Village

Both bus rides were enjoyed by all,
Ask your child who they sat next to.

PAINTING PUMPKINS MADE US ALL HAPPY!

Tomorrow we will get to participate in four festive Centers in all four of the Kindergarten rooms.  Ask your child on Halloween what they did in Mrs. Underhill's room, Mrs. Foley's room, and Mrs. Fox's room.  We will be performing Five Little Pumpkins in our room and listening to an interactive story titled "The Little Orange House".  I will send a copy home of the story I share with the kids tomorrow afternoon.

Friday, OCTOBER 4th is POPCORN DAY and Kindergarten students are welcome to purchase a bag for snack time if they would like.

If you want your child to get popcorn at school next Friday please send in 50 cents and remind your child to give it to me when they arrive to school.
(It does not start tomorrow which had been a possibility at one point).

We learned our 1st Word Wall Word TODAY!

Ask your child to see if they can remember what it was.

And start practicing spelling and reading the word "the" with them.  These words are tricky because we can't sound them out.  They just have to memorize through repetition.

Apple Scientists

Observing, Predicting, Data Collecting, and Experimenting were all part of the fun!
